Private Viewing, A Mature Mirror Series
For years I have been intrigued by the surrealistic artwork of collage artists Hannah Höch, Linder Sterling, Maurizio Cattelan and Toshiko Okanoue (among others.) The blend of contrasting images and the creation of an entirely new visual story inspired me to create my digital collages back in 2010. The two most prevalent themes in my collages are humor and sexuality, particularly when blended with pornography. Because sexuality is taboo in America, playfully provocative pornography propels a lot of what I create. While once limiting my art to digital platforms such as Instagram or framed prints in gallery exhibitions, I recently became excited about exploring the design world, particularly mirrors. This is where Private Viewing was conceived. Sexy knickers seductively pulled back by deliciously tacky painted fingernails, as well as, an unzipped denim crotch surrounding the mirrored reflection, so whoever is in view is the face of um…naughty bits. How fun and sexy is that? This titillating collection is now available, a fun and sexy addition to any room where it is hung.
Each circular mirror is UV print on reflective glass with a custom powder-coated aluminum frame. Brass frames are available at added cost. The sizes vary from 12”, 20”, and 30”. Additional sizes are also available upon request.
